Allopathic Physician (M.D.)

Duties and Responsibilities:
     Medicine is the broad field pertaining to all of human health.  Common work encountered depends on ones field of specialization: it may be general, seeing patients as an initial contact with respect to a health issue, or very specialized, seeing a patient only after referral from a general or family physician. There are two broad approaches to medicine, allopathic and osteopathic.  Allopathic medicine treats disease by the use of remedies that produce effects different than those produced by the disease.  Also called conventional medicine, and practiced by physicians with an MD degree, allopathic medicine focuses on treating a specific ailment, often by use of pharmaceuticals and surgery. 
 Salary:
    The average salary for allopathic physician jobs is $93,000. Average allopathic physician salaries can vary greatly due to company, location, industry, experience and benefits.
Education :
      There are 126 allopathic medical schools in the United States, including three in Virginia (Medical College of Virginia, University of Virginia School of Medicine, and Eastern Virginia Medical School).  Most MD programs require 4 years of study, including emphasis on basic science, clinical work, and social science.

     An allergist / immunologist sometimes referred to as an allergist is a physician specially trained to diagnose, treat and manage allergies, asthma and immunologic disorders including primary immunodeficiency disorders.

Education  
 and treats disorders and diseases of the immune system. Prescribes and administers patient medications. Performs a variety of laboratory procedures, examines sample tissues, and uses various biological and chemical analyses to identify harmful organisms or pathological conditions. Consults with patients to determine the appropriate course of treatment. Requires a degree in medicine from an accredited school and is licensed to practice. May require at least 2-4 years of immunology/allergy experience. Familiar with standard concepts, practices, and procedures within a particular field. Relies on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals. Performs a variety of tasks. May report to a medical director. A wide degree of creativity and latitude is expected

Maintaining detailed health records and evaluating treatment outcomes. They Identifying the correct treatment point locations on a patient's body .Ensuring that all laws and regulations are followed as they pertain to providing healthcare.

Education
This type of alternative medicine requires in-depth study of the human body and the physiological effects of the treatment on the body, so many students seeking enrollment into an acupuncture program have a background in medicine, biology, psychology or neurobiology. Applicants to acupuncture programs should have an undergraduate degree; an associate's degree is common, because a bachelor's degree in acupuncture is not typically available.

I would not like to be one because I want to be a vet .I rather work with animals than humans .I do think this is a very cool job.
